Madeline is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Madeline was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Lafayette Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Madeline is 30, worked as a bakery worker until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lafayette Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $9,650 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000 • Scans and lab work: $1,900 • Transport to Lafayette Regional Medical Center: $840 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $530 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,380 Glad we found this place.
