In August I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. My oncology team at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 40, I worked as a hairdresser until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Los Angeles Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $6,100 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,700
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $500
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,900

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Quyên.
Sure. The biggest one is scans and lab work, $1,700. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
