In April I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. My oncology team at the Makassar Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in July. I was told to expect about 6 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 48, I worked as a bakery worker until April, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Makassar Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,750 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Scans and lab work: $175 • Transport to the Makassar Oncology Institute: $135 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65 • Household costs while unable to work: $325 Thank you so much. - Iwan

      Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $1,050. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
