Shazia was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in August. The oncology team at Lahore University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Shazia is 51, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lahore University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,000 goes: • Scans and lab work: $120 • Transport to Lahore University Hospital: $130 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $720 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
