Lucy was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Cairns Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Lucy is 50, worked as a farmer until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cairns Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $8,700 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $720 • Scans and lab work: $1,480 Every share and every dollar helps.
