Eugene
In March I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. My oncology team at the Eugene Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in June. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 44, I worked as a taxi driver until March, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Eugene Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $11,650 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500 • Scans and lab work: $1,650 • Transport to the Eugene Oncology Institute: $1,100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $740 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,660 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 3% funded and I made the first payment toward nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team.

What's already covered and what's the $11,650 for?

The list at the bottom is the whole picture. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the biggest at $6,500. Good question.
