Fighting prostate cancer: help Gauri afford treatment in Bengaluru
Gauri is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world1,531 views
Gauri was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December. The oncology team at Bengaluru Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Gauri is 31, worked as a shop owner until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bengaluru Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $500
• Scans and lab work: $195
• Transport to Bengaluru Regional Medical Center: $120
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Household costs while unable to work: $285
