Fighting prostate cancer: help Ekow afford treatment in Tema
Ekow is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Ekow was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Tema University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Ekow is 48, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tema University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $840
• Scans and lab work: $120
• Transport to Tema University Hospital: $145
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70
• Household costs while unable to work: $275
