Fighting non-Hodgkin lymphoma: help Michael afford treatment in Lagos
Michael is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 100427, Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria1,130 views
Michael was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at the Lagos Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Michael is 54, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Lagos Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $620
• Scans and lab work: $135
• Transport to the Lagos Oncology Institute: $150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55
• Household costs while unable to work: $140
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Sent it to 14 people at work.
Sending love. This could happen to any of us. I hope November is when things finally get easier
sending good thoughts, Omolara. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Love from Multan
Thinking of you, Omolara. Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
