Fighting multiple myeloma: help Joyce afford treatment in Los Angeles
Joyce is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇺🇸 United States1,245 views
Joyce was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at Los Angeles University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Joyce is 45, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,500
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $610
• Scans and lab work: $1,090
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
