Fighting multiple myeloma: help Ivy afford treatment in Tucson
Ivy is facing multiple myeloma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇺🇸 Tucson, Arizona, United States914 views
Ivy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at Tucson Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Ivy is 52, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tucson Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,100
• Transport to Tucson Regional Medical Center: $850
