Akash was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in September. The oncology team at Nagpur Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Akash is 52, worked as a bank teller until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nagpur Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $550 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $230
• Transport to Nagpur Cancer Centre: $110
• Scans and lab work: $210
