Fighting kidney cancer: help Maliha afford treatment in Durgapur
Maliha is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In April I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. My oncology team at the Durgapur Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 12 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 45, I worked as a bakery worker until April, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Durgapur Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $900 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $720
• Transport to the Durgapur Oncology Institute: $140
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $40
