Fighting Hodgkin lymphoma: help Li afford treatment in San Diego
Li is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Li was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at San Diego University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Li is 54, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,700
• Scans and lab work: $880
• Transport to San Diego University Hospital: $930
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $490
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,300

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($3,700) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
