Los Angeles
Aaliyah was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at the Los Angeles Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Aaliyah is 42, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,300 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,150 • Transport to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute: $630 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
