Fighting early-stage lung cancer: help Roisin afford treatment in Cork
Roisin is facing early-stage lung cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇮🇪 Cork, Munster, Ireland146 views
Roisin was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in August. The oncology team at Cork Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Roisin is 36, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cork Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $5,800 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $560
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,800
• Transport to Cork Regional Medical Center: $660
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,780
With deep gratitude,
Diarmuid
