Jimma
Birtukan was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in August. The oncology team at Jimma University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Birtukan is 39, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jimma University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $300 goes: • Transport to Jimma University Hospital: $100 • Scans and lab work: $145 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
