Fighting colon cancer: help Carolina afford treatment in Barranquilla
Carolina is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Carolina was diagnosed with colon cancer in December. The oncology team at the Barranquilla Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Carolina is 31, worked as a farmer until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Barranquilla Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $800
• Scans and lab work: $220
• Transport to the Barranquilla Oncology Institute: $105
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Household costs while unable to work: $225
