Brandon was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August. The oncology team at the Bakersfield Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Brandon is 41, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Bakersfield Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Household costs while unable to work: $1,400
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,250
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $390
• Transport to the Bakersfield Oncology Institute: $910
