Fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia: help Ksenia afford treatment in Kharkiv
Ksenia is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇺🇦 Kharkiv, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine125 views
Ksenia was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February. The oncology team at the Kharkiv Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Ksenia is 32, worked as a bank teller until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Kharkiv Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Scans and lab work: $140
• Transport to the Kharkiv Oncology Institute: $190
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $175
• Household costs while unable to work: $195
With deep gratitude,
Gleb

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ksenia.
Chemotherapy and medication not covered is $1,150 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
