Feed 89 families each week at the Second Helping in Hyderabad
The the Second Helping pantry in Hyderabad is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 89 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Hyderabad market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $65
• Baby formula and diapers: $30
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nimra
Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $280 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
