Feed 63 families each week at the Second Helping in Gazipur
The the Second Helping pantry in Gazipur is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 63 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gazipur market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $200
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $125
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $20

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($200) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
