Feed 393 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Pune
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Pune is running low just as demand rises; $500 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 393 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Pune market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $210
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $210
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out, Asif. Looking forward to the next update. God bless.
Rooting for you. More neighborhoods should do this. Greetings from Hamilton
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Asif
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($210) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
Thinking of you and your family. More neighborhoods should do this. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Thanks for sharing this, Asif. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Pune
Stay strong, Asif. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Pattaya!
