Feed 379 families each week at the Second Helping in Manila
The the Second Helping pantry in Manila is running low just as demand rises; $550 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 379 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Manila market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $550 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $340
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $185
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
