Feed 349 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Ciudad de México
Luis runs a volunteer pantry feeding 349 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 349 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 59% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ciudad de México market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Baby formula and diapers: $120
• Refrigeration and electricity: $100
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you, Luis. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Manchester so I could bring a meal. Take care
