Feed 298 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in São Paulo
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in São Paulo is running low just as demand rises; $850 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 298 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the São Paulo market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $570
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $190
• Refrigeration and electricity: $90
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending strength, Sônia. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Coyoacán donated after I showed her your page. Love from Coyoacán.
