Feed 286 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Campinas
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Campinas is running low just as demand rises; $900 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 286 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Campinas market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $410
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $340
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75
With deep gratitude,
Pedro
