Feed 270 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Belo Horizonte
Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Belo Horizonte.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 270 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Belo Horizonte market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
• Baby formula and diapers: $155
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $675
With deep gratitude,
Simone
