Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Saturday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 266 each week. Donations have dropped by about 30% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Dhaka market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $300 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $100 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $150 • Baby formula and diapers: $40 • Refrigeration and electricity: $10 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Parvin

  • Hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless.

    • Sending good thoughts, Parvin. Hope this works out for you. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Blessings
