Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 259 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jaipur market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $600 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $50
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $330
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
good luck, Rohit. This could happen to any of us. Don't give up. Greetings from Yonkers.
You're not alone, Rohit. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
praying for you, Rohit. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
