Feed 196 families each week at the Thursday Table in George
Tracey runs a volunteer pantry feeding 196 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 196 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the George market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $800 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $105
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $350
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $345

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tracey.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. baby formula and diapers is the biggest at $105. Good question.
