Feed 196 families each week at Community Pantry in Corpus Christi
The Community Pantry pantry in Corpus Christi is running low just as demand rises; $3,100 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 196 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Corpus Christi market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,700
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $760
• Baby formula and diapers: $260
• Refrigeration and electricity: $380
Glad we found this place.
