Feed 170 families each week at the Second Helping in Makassar
Irfan runs a volunteer pantry feeding 170 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 170 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Makassar market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $300
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $105
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $40
Every share and every dollar helps.

How is Irfan doing now?
Praying for you, Irfan. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Take care.
keep going, Irfan. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Toronto.
