Feed 154 families each week at Community Pantry in Reading
The Community Pantry pantry in Reading is running low just as demand rises; $2,050 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 20 families, and now we feed 154 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Reading market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $970
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $560
• Baby formula and diapers: $290
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
