Federica can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Federica regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇮🇹 Catania, Sicily, Italy598 views
Federica has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Federica can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Federica's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Catania
- skills
- carpentry, measuring, power tools
