Mateo, my grandfather, passed away on 11 August after a stroke. He was 90 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,350 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 18 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Mateo to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Anaheim hospice.

• Funeral home services and casket: $3,050
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,750
• Transport of the deceased: $180
• Memorial gathering for the family: $370
