Emergency vet bill for Poppy in Gqeberha
A dog named Poppy needs emergency surgery - a $550 bill the family cannot cover.

Poppy is my dog of thirteen years. On 28 July we rushed to Gqeberha Animal Hospital with kidney failure. The vet recommends emergency surgery, and the estimate came to $550.
They have stabilized Poppy, but the treatment can't wait beyond October.
Poppy is more than a pet - Poppy is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $60 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to Gqeberha Animal Hospital's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $550 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $390
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $75
• Medication and follow-up visits: $50
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $35
Thank you so much.

Hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Gqeberha.
take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Kazan.
