Emergency vet bill for Nala in Los Angeles
Nala, Kennedy's rabbit, needs urgent treatment for pyometra costing $2,250.

Nala is my rabbit of nine years. On 12 April we rushed to Los Angeles Veterinary Centre with pyometra. The vet recommends an operation to remove the blockage, and the estimate came to $2,250.
They have stabilized Nala, but the treatment can't wait beyond July.
Nala is more than a pet - Nala is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $280 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to Los Angeles Veterinary Centre's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $1,300
• Hospitalization (3 nights): $860
• Medication and follow-up visits: $90
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
