Megan was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in September. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,950 short. my mother has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since September. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Megan struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Megan won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $4,950 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $195 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $4,000 • Physiotherapy sessions: $755 If you're reading this, thank you.
