Elias can't leave home - help build a ramp
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Lafayette.
πΊπΈ Louisiana, United States800 views
Elias has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Elias can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Elias's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

Keep going, Ryan. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Santos donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Lafayette.
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
