Electricity shut-off notice: help Armando pay $800

The electricity account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless I pay $800. I have never been late before an unexpected car repair. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $145 first, which I don't have. I live with three children under ten, and going through winter without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Armando's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $800 goes: • Heating arrears: $460 • Reconnection and late fees: $165 • Down payment on a payment plan: $175 Thanks for reading all this. - Armando

Updates from Armando

  1. 30% there. I made the first payment toward heating arrears. Thank you.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 5% now ($40). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward heating arrears.

  3. Update from Arlington: we've started the first stage. We're at 20% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
