Eleanor can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Eleanor regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States1,421 views
Eleanor has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Eleanor can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Eleanor's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Rooting for you, Valentina. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Hope the doctors have good news. I hope January is when things finally get easier
