Earthquake in Tokyo: help the Eastgate settlement rebuild
After the earthquake, families in the Eastgate settlement need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The earthquake hit the Eastgate settlement on 13 April. My home was one of 58 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $660
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,000
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $670
• Tools and labor for repairs: $570
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thanks for sharing this. More neighborhoods should do this. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Nha Trang.
wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope July is when things finally get easier
Praying for you, Sachiko. I hope things turn around soon. All the best
