I coordinate donations at Union Women's Shelter in Mombasa. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Mombasa, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Union Women's Shelter on Sunday between 9am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Union Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Thank you so much.

Stay strong. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. We're a small family in San Nicolás de los Garza but we're thinking of you.
You're not alone, Wambui. Shared this with my family. Take care.
praying for you, Wambui. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
Best of luck, Wambui. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better.
