I coordinate donations at Baobab Women's Shelter in Kandy. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Kandy, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Baobab Women's Shelter on Thursday between 11am and 3pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Baobab Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Thinking of you, Sachini. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Please keep us posted. Blessings.
