I coordinate donations at Maple Refugee Centre in Surabaya. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Surabaya, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Maple Refugee Centre on Monday between 10am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Maple Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We're a small family in Patna but we're thinking of you.

        • good luck, Putri. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.

Sending strength, Putri. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
