I coordinate donations at Union Women's Shelter in Nairobi. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Nairobi, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Union Women's Shelter on Friday between 11am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Union Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

Take care. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Nairobi

    • Take care, Omondi. Shared this with my family. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Islamabad.

rooting for you, Omondi. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Los Angeles.

Good luck, Omondi. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care.

          • thanks for sharing this, Omondi. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better!
