I coordinate donations at the Acacia Primary School in Surrey. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Surrey, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Acacia Primary School on Thursday between 11am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Acacia Primary School clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • So sorry you're going through this, Megan. This could happen to any of us. Love from Los Angeles.

    • Take care. Shared this with my family. After 24 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

      • Keep going, Megan. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

        • Thinking of you, Megan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.

          • Hope things get better soon, Megan. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't give up. God bless
