I coordinate donations at the Unity Mosque in Duque de Caxias. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Duque de Caxias, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Unity Mosque on Friday between 10am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Unity Mosque clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Thank you for reading my story.

looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Sending love, Márcia. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Rohini.
Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Sending love. Shared it with a few friends. Sent it to 35 people at work. All the best.
Rooting for you, Márcia. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Take care.
Take care. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Duque de Caxias!
Sending strength, Márcia. Hope this works out for you. After 22 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Sydney.
Praying for you. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Take care.
Sending strength, Márcia. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Utrecht donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
Sending love, Márcia. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
