I coordinate donations at the Harmony Mosque in Embakasi. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Embakasi, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Harmony Mosque on Tuesday between 10am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Harmony Mosque clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Glad we found this place.

  • Sending good thoughts, Kariuki. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Embakasi.

    • Stay strong, Kariuki. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Embakasi.

      • shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Mapo.

        • Stay strong, Kariuki. Shared this with my family. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.

          • it takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Thane
